Layla Grace was a beautiful 2 year old little girl who recently lost her battle with Neuroblastoma Cancer. Layla Grace’s story has dominated social networking over the last several months. So many people have offered their prayers and support to Layla and her family. This event has grown out of the love that you’ve shared for her.
When Layla’s mom, Shanna, blogged about a mini session event that their photographer was holding to support the Marsh family, their photographer was overwhelmed with emails and phone calls with people hoping that they would be able to attend an event. Unfortunately, Christie became increasingly busy and was unable to accomodate all of the loving people hoping to support sweet Layla and her family.
Party for Layla was born. Christie contacted the best boutique photographers in the Houston area in hopes that they would be willing to donate their time and talents to support this family whose story seemed to touch everyone. Luckily, most, if not all, of the photographers who were contacted jumped at the chance to help. As photographers (and parents), we believe that documenting our children and families is an extremely important part of our family legacy. And as we’ve seen here with Layla’s story, you just never know when you might lose a loved one. This amazing photography community of children and family photographers are joining together for a one day event mini session portrait party event to be held April 18th, 2010. All session fees from participation in this event are going directly to the Marsh family to help pay for medical expenses and to help them create their foundation for Layla Grace.
These boutique photographers are located all over the Houston area. They have each chosen a location for their events and participants will be assigned to a photographer based on their location. The assigning of photographers is essential for this event to take place so that no one photographer is overwhelmed with too many sessions. Please be assured that any person participating will receive the highest quality photographs and products, no matter which photographer they are assigned to.
